57th workout of the year, 6/1/2011.

Music: Aerosmith and Bachman Turner Overdrive.

T-Shirt: This Is What Awesome Looks Like.

OK.  So I couldn’t think of a “good” name for the blog post. Hence it is named after my shirt.

Everyone should become just as damn awesome as they possibly can. Mentally of course. But also physically!

So there is the challenge to anyone reading: Become Awesome.

Or at least as awesome as you can…but certainly more awesome than you are now.

The path to awesomeness never ends!!!

So after a couple of days of circuit training we switch things up again.

Variety is the spice of the workouts believe it or not!

Warm Up: At least if you want to call it that!

I just bet this “warm up” could easily be someone’s workout (not that there is anything wrong with that).

  1. Squats
  2. Ground Up Push Ups
  3. Leg Raises
  4. Burpees

How many you ask?

Just 10. Yep 10 reps of each one.

The catch?

Oh yeah…we did 10 sets.

Easy math…100 total reps of each exercise.

I told you it was a workout wrapped up in a warm up!

Second: Get Off The Floor

It occurred to me that some people can’t get off the floor just using their own body. Hell I wasn’t sure I could do it either.

So that became an exercise.

No style points. Just get off the floor without using your hands to help get up or get back down.

Why get back down? Why not? We did this 20 times!

Third: Dumbbell Ladders

DB Push Press Ladder

DB Squats

13 sets of Dumbbells…5’s to 65’s.

We did 5 reps on every dumbbell.

Well Randy and I played around and did a few more reps with the 65s.

If someone couldn’t make it up to the 65’s they just stayed at the heaviest they could handle for the remaining sets.

Last: Core/Ab Stuff

  1. Knees to Elbows 25
  2. Opposite Knee to Elbow 25 Each Side
  3. Reverse Crunch 25
  4. Alternate Hand to Foot 25 Each Side
  5. Hip Ups 25
  6. Reverse Crunch/Hip Up Combo 25

  1. Matt Henderson says:

    That is awesome. : )

  2. Bill Jones says:

    Absolutely!! When you comin’ back?
